Privacy Notice

Who we are

The Transdisciplinary Research Union for the Study of Trust (“TRUST”, “we”) is a Virginia nonprofit corporation, 9812 Ceralene Dr., Fairfax, VA 22032, USA. For privacy questions, contact contact@t-r-u-s-t.org.

What we collect, and when

• Contact form (/contact.html): name, email, and the message you send.
• Network signup (/global-network.html): name, email, affiliation (optional), role, and your selected interests.
• Newsletter sign-up (/updates.html): your email address, and whether you ticked the newsletter box.

Each submission also records which form it came from and the time it was sent, so we have a record of what you agreed to.

We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies.

Why we collect it

• To reply to your message (contact form), or
• To send you updates about TRUST research, meetings, and publications (network signup) — only with your consent.

How it’s handled

Form submissions are processed by Web3Forms (a form-forwarding service) and delivered to contact@t-r-u-s-t.org. Your information is stored in three places: (1) the Foundation’s email inbox, (2) Web3Forms’ submission logs (kept by Web3Forms for a limited period per their own policy), and (3) any contact list the Foundation maintains based on your signup. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Services this site connects to

• Web3Forms. Form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, which forwards them to contact@t-r-u-s-t.org. This happens only when you submit a form.
• YouTube. Embedded videos load from youtube-nocookie.com only when they are displayed. Playing a video connects you to YouTube/Google under their privacy policy. The YouTube link in our footer is an ordinary link and contacts nobody until you click it.
• Fonts. Typefaces are served from this website. Viewing a page does not contact a font provider.
• Google Maps. The contact page embeds a Google map showing our address. It loads when that page opens, which tells Google your IP address and that you viewed the page. No other page embeds a map.
• Hosting. Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and operation.

Newsletter

The newsletter is opt-in only: you receive it only if you tick the box yourself. The box is never pre-ticked, and joining the network or sending us a message does not sign you up.

The newsletter is not yet running. At present, ticking the box records that you would like to receive it; nothing is sent until we have a mailing provider in place. When it launches, every email will carry an unsubscribe link.

TRUST Atlas guests

Names, biographies and recordings of TRUST Atlas guests are published only with the guest's written release.

How long we keep it

Messages sent through the contact form are kept for up to 24 months. Network and newsletter records are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until the list is retired. You can ask us to remove your information at any time (see below).

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing contact@t-r-u-s-t.org. We will respond within 30 days. On a deletion request, we will remove your information from the Foundation’s inbox, from the Web3Forms submission logs, and from any contact list we maintain. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have specific rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We will update this notice if our practices change; the date below shows when it was last reviewed.
